You dreamt you rode a horse and drove a car
But tell me, did you get very far?
Did the spaceship take you up to the moon?
Or did the trip end, when you woke too soon?
Sometimes, we really don’t want dreams to end.
They hang around like our best bedtime friend
And when they’re scary, we want them to go.
So after waking up, It’s good to know,
That dreams happen inside your sleepy head.
When you dream, you’re safely lying in bed.
Dreams are notebooks of imagination.
A harmless journey of fabrication.
What your dreams pen, may scare you for real
But remember you know you should feel
Safe, as even though dreams float in your head,
Actually you’re safely tucked up in your bed.
Dreams are notebooks of imagination.
A harmless journey of fabrication. Click To Tweet

Oh that’s so lovely and I love the way that it flows. It’s enchanting and would make a lovely bedtime rhyme before tucking them in. Dawn x
I can imagine you reading this at bedtime to your little one. What beautiful words x
Thank you. I hope it helps others too. Bless them, they’re so imaginative, the monster in the closet can be so scary for them.
this is such a cute little rhyme! Thank you for sharing this with us at #TriumphantTales. I hope to see you back next week
I love this. It’s truly lovely. Thanks for linking up to #TriumphantTales
Thank you. It seems to settle her.
This is lovely. I like the idea of my babies going off on their own little adventures.
What a lovely bedtime poem. You should start a collection. #bigpinklink
Beautiful – constantly fascinated by what my dream life offers us sometimes scary and sometimes difficult to wake up from to face the real world. Tucked up in bed – got to love that phrase
Popping back from #sharingthebloglove – still love this! 🙂
And again from #PoCoLo 🙂
What a lovely poem you’ve penned. #BloggerClubUK

What a beautiful explanation. My son has only just started to be aware of his dreams, so this would be lovely to read to him. It makes me a bit sad that the only dreams I tend to remember these days are the bad ones that I wake up from suddenly. Mostly about my teeth falling out these days which I seem to recall is anxiety related! Thanks for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove
Oh this is lovely. Thanks for linking up to #ThatFridayLinky
This is so lovely I can’t love and hate dreams in equal measure depending on their content. But I’ll remember this, they are a fabrication and I am in the safety of my comfy bed. Thanks for sharing at #familyfun
Such beautiful words X #PoCoLo

Oh, how lovely. I found myself singing along as I read! Such a sweet night time lullaby! #globalblogging
Just read Katy’s comment and saw her comment about teeth falling out in her dreams – I have that too! It’s awful!
Anyhow, this poem is beautiful hun! It’s so calming, flows brilliantly and would be perfect to read to my little one to explain what happens whilst he’s asleep.

What a gorgeous rhyme about dreams – I love the line about dreams being “notebooks of imagination” – what a lovely way to describe them. #sharingthebloglove
